Team Meeting Discussion

Teams at the Top

with Darren Overfield

Despite decades of research and a great deal of coaching, we still do not know how to create a great 'top team', let alone sustain it. I joined forces with Darren Overfield to ask what we were missing.

COMING 2027

About the Book

Darren and I compared practices, discussed research and went back to the drawing board. We discovered that great top teams do not operate as a single, unified, equal team. Rather than trying to create strong dynamics between 12, 15, 25 people – we discovered the best teams create strong interpersonal dynamics among a small subset.

What distinguishes the best top teams from the rest is how this small subset – the inner core – see their role to zoom in and zoom out to the larger team.

Speaking Topics

Building a Strong Team

Despite decades of research on teams and team performance, "dream teams" are exceedingly difficult to create. This session addresses why, what we have been missing, how to assess the state of your team and next steps to take.
